Can Don-Bar fireplaces truly provide a reliable heating source? (9000 & 7000 series)
Yes! And the heat they emit is really enjoyable.
First, our fireplaces are made of steel, which transmits heat quickly.
When fire and smoke get in contact with the hood surface (which is considerably large), it acts as a heater. It recycles the fire's energy and re-transmits it immediately into the room, by infrared radiation.
This technical particularity (intense thermal radiation from a large metallic surface) sets our fireplaces apart from older masonry fireplaces and wood stoves from other manufacturers.
But there is more!
You can also rely on the direct heat from the fire and embers, which radiates a 180 degree area of the room. There is no energy loss. To get an idea of the energy produced by our fireplaces, imagine the heat of a campfire, and then add the recycled heat from the smoke.
The way a Don-Bar fireplace operates is very different from the older, open-fire style, which only radiates heat from the facade and loses heat up the chimney.
Testing has also shown that Don-Bar fireplaces emit up to 4 times more energy than other, more traditional casings.
What type of installation offers the best economic value?
A prefabricated chimney installed through the ceiling, offers the best value.
The T-type wall chimney requires more parts and installation time.
Do I have to make special arrangements?
Yes. The 9000 and 7000 series fireplaces are attached to either a wall or ceiling. This means you must have a strong framing in order to fix and support the fireplace. You must also have enough room to allow for the passage of the chimney. Please consult our technical guides where everything is explained in detail.
What is the wait time between placing the order and the delivery date of the fireplace?
Because your fireplace is made to your own personal specifications, it takes approximately 1 month after you have placed your final order.
Can I install a wall-mounted fireplace (7000 series) on a masonry chimney?
Yes. But your smoke flue must be clean, smooth and have the required dimensions and height. Consult our installation guide for more details. |
