First, our fireplaces are made of steel, which transmits heat quickly.
When fire and smoke get in contact with the hood surface (which is considerably large), it acts as a heater. It recycles the fire's energy and re-transmits it immediately into the room, by infrared radiation.
This technical particularity (intense thermal radiation from a large metallic surface) sets our fireplaces apart from older masonry fireplaces and wood stoves from other manufacturers.
But there is more!
You can also rely on the direct heat from the fire and embers, which radiates a 180 degree area of the room. There is no energy loss. To get an idea of the energy produced by our fireplaces, imagine the heat of a campfire, and then add the recycled heat from the smoke.
The way a Don-Bar fireplace operates is very different from the older, open-fire style, which only radiates heat from the facade and loses heat up the chimney.
Testing has also shown that Don-Bar fireplaces emit up to 4 times more energy than other, more traditional casings.
A prefabricated chimney installed through the ceiling, offers the best value. The T-type wall chimney requires more parts and installation time.
Yes. The 9000 and 7000 Series fireplaces are suspended either from a wall or from a ceiling. It is therefore necessary to provide solid nails to be able to support and fix the fireplace. As your fireplace will be made to your specifications, allow approximately 2-6 weeks from the time we get your final, complete order.
